On the 7th of March, Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana, inaugurated the Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana (Haryana HAPPY Yojana) from Panchkula. This initiative will provide free travel on Haryana Roadways buses to Antyodaya families. Beneficiaries will be issued a smart card connected to an e-ticketing system for complimentary travel on Haryana Roadways buses, facilitating their transportation.

About Haryana HAPPY Yojana
- Haryana Roadways buses will offer free travel of up to 1000 kilometers annually to underprivileged families under the Haryana HAPPY Yojana.
- Approximately 22.89 lakh families in Haryana are expected to benefit from the scheme.
- Families earning up to ₹1 lakh annually will receive a HAPPY Card, enabling them to travel from one place to another.
- Beneficiaries are required to pay ₹50 for a HAPPY Card, while the government will cover the remaining costs: ₹109 for the card and an annual maintenance fee of ₹79.
- The HAPPY scheme will provide beneficiaries with an annual subsidy of around ₹500 crore.
- The implementation of the scheme by the Haryana government will cost approximately ₹600 crore.
- To obtain a HAPPY Card, beneficiaries must apply online through their family identity card.
